Blair had always wanted a sibling, but with the age gap, she was afraid that she and Chase could never connect and form a true bond. As both of parents had full time jobs, Blair had to look out for Chase, becoming a mother figure to him, taking it as a chance to prove her responsibility to her parents and persuade them to let her get back on a horse. Once Blair graduated 6th grade and was on summer break, her parents went on a vacation 'To get away from it all' While the airplane was oversea it unfortunately crashed, leaving her parents dead, and her family devastated. Blair had to move in with her grandparents, who lived on a ranch. Blair knew that they had horses, but questioned if she should respect her parents decision, and honor them, or follow her passion. It took most of the summer for Blair to open up, soon she got on horse back, thinking that her parents would want her to be happy.
